Calling all demigods! Woman’s World recently caught up with the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and by order of the Gods, we had one very important question to ask them: “What’s your favorite Percy Jackson book?” And while none of them said Mark of Athena—which is this author’s favorite—their answers were almost as shocking and delightful as Season 2 of the series. Keep reading to discover the cast’s favorite Percy Jackson book.
Leah Sava Jeffries loves ‘Battle of the Labyrinth’

Leah Sava Jeffries, who plays Annabeth Chase in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians TV series, says that she loves Battle of the Labyrinth (also known as book four), which makes total sense since that’s when Annabeth gets her first-ever quest. It’s also the book where Annabeth and Percy begin to discover their feelings for one another, a plot line that heavily relies on a mortal named Rachel Elizabeth Dare.
“I think it’s funny to see how I [Annabeth] act towards Rachel Elizabeth Dare,” Sava Jeffries says. “I’m 100 percent sure I’m gonna love the girl who’s gonna be playing her, but I’m excited to see how that’s gonna play out. It’s gonna be hard to film, because I bet they’re gonna be great, but I’m excited.”
Aryan Simhadri calls book five ‘perfect’

Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover Underwood, on the other hand, loves book five, The Last Olympian. It’s the last book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, and according to Simhadri is the “perfect culmination to the series.”
“I love the huge twist at the end, and I think it’s perfectly done,” he continued. “I love all the little moments that Percy [Jackson, played by Walker Scobell] has with every character, but the thing I’m looking forward to seeing on screen is Clarisse [LaRue played by Dior Goodjohn] slaying the drakon. It’s the coolest moment I’ve ever read on paper.”
Dior Goodjohn also loves ‘Battle of the Labyrinth’

Despite her iconic battle in The Last Olympian, Goodjohn says that Battle of the Labyrinth is her “favorite book and no one can tell me otherwise.”
“I personally like to break off the book series. It’s like books one and two, and then books three through five,” she continued. “But, book four has just the right amount of tension for me. I just enjoyed reading that one the most of all the books. Don’t get me wrong, all the books are great, but it’s book four for me. I love it.”
Daniel Diemer says ‘The Last Olympian’ is where ‘everything comes together’

Similar to Simhadi, Daniel Diemer (who plays Tyson) says that The Last Olympian is his favorite book, despite his character’s debut being in Sea of Monsters, which is the second book.
“I love all the books, but I’m a big sucker for really good endings where everything kind of comes together and I love how Rick [Riordan, the author] did that in The Last Olympian,” he explained.
Charlie Bushnell is also a Book 4 fan

Like so many of his costars, Charlie Bushnell (who plays Luke Castellan), says that Battle of the Labyrinth is “such a good book.”
“I loved all the books, but there was something about Battle of the Labyrinth. I just could not put it down,” he explained. “I specifically love the chapter when Percy goes to Calypso’s Island, because it just feels like that one episode that just has nothing to do with the main plot, and it just takes you out of it for a second. That’s what it felt like to me, and I’m excited. I really hope we get to bring that to life as well.”
Be sure to stream Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 every Wednesday on Disney+.
