The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has been a holiday staple for decades thanks to its A-list performers, high-flying balloons and jaw-dropping floats. And now, less than two weeks before the 2024 show, we finally have some insights as to who will be performing in it, which floats are being added, who is hosting it and more. Who is performing at the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade?

A-list singers and performers are often seen on the parade’s floats, and this year’s lineup is off the charts. 

Not only are pop stars like Jennifer Huson, Kylie Cantrall, Natti Natasha, Rachel Platten and T-Pain expected to appear, but country superstars Dan + Shay and Walker Hayes will also perform some of their hit songs. 

“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is second to none when it comes to world-class entertainment during the holiday season,”  Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials, NBCUniversal Media Group, Jen Neal said in a press release obtained by Woman’s World. “It’s truly an honor to bring such an iconic event to our viewers year after year and partake in one of the country’s most beloved traditions.” 

Alongside the music stars, celebrities such as talk show host Jimmy Fallon, dancer Charli D’Amelio, Hallmark star Jonathan Bennett, actress Ginna Claire Mason and the entire New York Liberty women’s basketball team will be there. 

Another big part of the parade is who the department store chooses to cut the ribbon at the parade’s start.  This year, it’s actress Alison Brie, who is best known for her work in Community (2009 to 2015), GLOW (2017 to 2019) and Promising Young Woman (2020). 

Aside from the singers and celebrities, people also tune into the parade to watch various Broadway shows perform their best songs. This year’s casts are Hell’s Kitchen, Death Becomes Her, and The Outsiders—a show that performed at the parade last year as well. The Radio City Rockettes are also expected to perform their legendary kickline. 

Who will host the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? 

Today show hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hota Kotb and Al Roker are expected to moderate the parade, as they have done in past years. However, this one will be extra special because it will be the last one Kotb will do before retiring in January 2025. 

What balloons and floats will be in the 2024 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? 

To celebrate the 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, six new balloons will bump down 5th Avenue, including Marvel’s Spider-Man, Disney’s Minnie Mouse and the Lumistella Companies Extraordinary Noorah and the Elf on the Shelf. 

There will also be a bunch of new floats in this year’s parade. Some highlights include Haribo’s Candy Cosmos, Nickelodeon’s Dora, Disney Cruise Line’s Magic Meets, the Bronx Zoo’s Wonderous World of Wildlife and Go Bowling!’s Strikes Again.

Where can I watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade? 

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air on Thursday, November 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EST on NBC and its streaming service Peacock.
